About

Hotel Eden

Hotel Eden occupies a historic building on a quiet side street in Kazimierz, Krakow's Jewish Quarter. Its 27 rooms are simply furnished but comfortable, with high ceilings and a traditional, slightly old-fashioned décor that suits the building's character. The on-site restaurant serves a buffet breakfast in a medieval-style cellar setting, and guests often mention the fresh bread and yoghurt.

The hotel is geared toward independent travellers who want a calm, characterful base rather than sleek modern amenities. Staff are repeatedly praised for being friendly, efficient, and happy to arrange tours, transport, or early breakfast bags. The location is a short walk from the Old Town and the area's synagogues, with plenty of cafes and bars nearby, yet the street itself stays quiet.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Prime location in Kazimierz — Set on a quiet side street, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the Old Town, synagogues, restaurants and bars.
  • Friendly, helpful staff — Guests consistently praise the team for being welcoming, informative and eager to help with tours, transport and early breakfasts.
  • Historic building with character — High ceilings, a rustic stone cellar and original touches like mezuzahs give the hotel a distinct sense of place.
  • Good breakfast buffet — Served in a medieval-style setting, the breakfast offers fresh bread, yoghurt and savoury dishes, with guests noting the quality.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Rooms could be fresher — While clean and comfortable, the décor is described as old-fashioned and the overall style may not suit everyone.
  • TV options limited for English speakers — Satellite TV only offered CNN in English, which may frustrate some guests.
  • No on-site parking — The hotel does not list parking facilities, which could be inconvenient for those arriving by car.
  • Location requires walking — Though well-placed, the hotel is a 20-30 minute walk from the Main Market Square – fine for those who enjoy walking, but maybe not for everyone.

“Perfect spot, just a short walk to the main square. The old-fashioned décor gives it a cozy feel, and the beds were incredibly comfortable – like sleeping on clouds.”

“Ideal setting in a lovely building with extremely friendly, informative, and efficient staff. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, rooms are comfortable, breakfasts are nice, and the area around is great – all at a reasonable price.”

“Location was the highlight.”

8.6Verified guest

“I enjoyed my stay as it had everything I needed. There's a fridge in the room so you can keep snacks and drinks cold. Satellite TV only had CNN for English speakers, which was a minor letdown. Rooms are spacious, airy, and very clean. Staff were always happy to help, and you can arrange trips through the hotel, though I found cheaper options myself. The location is a bit far from the Main Market Square if you don't like walking, but great if you do. I'd recommend this hotel to all travellers, and Krakow to anyone who loves history and beautiful architecture. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe and had a wonderful time.”
